Masjid Nabwi

Masij al_Nabawi is oftenly called as the Prophet's Mosque.Originally Mosque was built by the hands of Prophet's Muhammad S.A.W after his journey to Madina in the year 622 AD. Its the second Holiest place in Islam. It was the second mosque built in history. Now its the largest Mosque in the world. In the reign of Al-Walid 1, Masjid Al-Nabawi had made the final resting place Holy Prophet S.A.w with His two companions Hazrat Abu Bakar and Hazrat Umar.
Original the mosque was built adjacent to Muhammad's house in Madina. Later that place came under the mosque area. He took a great share in the construction work of mosque. The original mosque was open air building but the basic plan of mosque is still adopted in all over the world for building the mosques. It was the first religious center where the Qur'an was taught to people. It also served as a community center, an Islamic court where people used to come and Hazrat Muhammad S.A.w used to give the solution of the problems in the light of Islam. The mosque is located at the center of Madina surrounded by the market. Its the also the important part of pilgrimage to visit mosque before and after the Hajj.
