Khana Kaaba

Every Muslim wish to come here even once in his life  Khana Kaaba, a cuboid shaped building is the most sacred Islamic site which is situated in the holy city Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is stated in Quran that that its mortal structure was constructed by Hazrat Ibrahim and his son adjacent to Zam Zam well which was gushed forth from the earth on the prayer of Hazrat Ibrahim’s wife. Masjid Al Haram is built around it. All the Muslims face Kaaba during their prayers. The direction which faces Kaaba is known as Kibla which is the focal point of the prayer. It is obligatory on a Muslim to perform pilgrimage (Hajj) once in his life time if he is able to do so, as it is one of the five pillars of Islam. Pilgrims walk seven times in a counter clock wise direction around Kaaba. The Tawaf is performed by pilgrims during lesser pilgrimage which is also known as Umrah. About three million people perform Hajj every year around Kaaba.The holy building of Kaaba is made of granite. The floor inside Kaaba is made of marble and limestone. Three pillars stand inside the Kaaba.It was the first house built for humanity to worship Allah. The building is opened twice for a ceremony which is known as ‘cleaning of Kaaba’.This ceremony takes place thirty days before the start of Ramadan and thirty days before the Hajj starts. The members of tribe greet the visitors inside the Kaaba on the occasion of cleaning ceremony. Washing of Kaaba is done using the mixture of water from the well of Zam Zam and Persian rose water. A small numbers of foreign diplomats are invited to participate in the ceremony. Kaaba is the holy place for all of the Muslims worldwide.
